EDMONTON, ALTA. - The Edmonton Oil Kings (9-8-0-2) lost their sixth straight game Friday night, falling 4-3 to the Kootenay Ice (5-13-0-0) in Kootenay.

Sam Reinhart scored a pair for the Ice in his first game since being sent back from the Buffalo Sabres, and Tim Bozon added his first of the season in his third game back as Kootenay went 2-7 on the power play and led three times in the game.

"We continued to parade to the penalty box and were undisciplined," said Oil Kings head coach Steve Hamilton.

"The whole complexion of their team is changed with those two guys coming back, and we didn't respect that and gave up some timely goals against."

Tristan Jarry made 35 saves in a losing effort for the Oil Kings and was a bright spot throughout, especially as Kootenay garnered 21 shots on goal in the first period.

"Tristan is the only reason that game wasn't out of reach in the first period," Hamilton said. "We spent an entire period admiring his play. He was unbelievable at times in the game."

Reinhart started the scoring just 32 seconds into the game as he scored on the rush on a bit of a broken play.

Luke Bertolucci evened the score for Edmonton 6:20 into the first as he collected Blake Orban's rebound in the slot and backhanded it into the Ice net. It was the first goal Edmonton scored in the first period in five games.

Reinhart struck again 21 seconds into the second period as the Ice worked a five-on-three man advantage to him at the side of the goal and he converted from down low.

Lane Bauer again rallied for the Oil Kings as his long shot deflected past Kootenay netminder Wyatt Hoflin, who made 19 saves for the Ice, to even the game at 2-2

Bozon regained the lead for the Ice 3:40 later as he scooped up a loose puck in the slot and fired it past Jarry in the Edmonton net.

Austin Vetterl added a power-play marker early in the third for Kootenay, and though Aaron Irving responded with a power-play goal just 26 seconds later, the Oil Kings couldn't find the equalizer as they were outshot 39-22 by the Ice.

Brett Pollock and Blake Orban each had two assists for Edmonton.

The Oil Kings will wrap up their seven-game road trip Saturday night as they make their first visit of the season to Lethbridge to play the Hurricanes.
