
Oil Kings Acquire Goaltender Logan Cunningham from Victoria

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired 2005-born goaltender Logan Cunningham from the Victoria Royals in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round draft pick, the team announced today,
Cunningham, 17, has appeared in 11 career WHL games with the Royals after being selected by the club in the seventh round, 150th overall, of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
Prior to joining the Royals this season, the Sherwood Park, AB product played his minor hockey with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep team. Last season, the 6-foot-2, 187-pound netminder was named the CSSHL U18's Top Goaltender after posting a 16-2-1 record to go along with a 1.45 goals-against average, .940 save percentage and six shutouts.
"The Edmonton Oil Kings are excited to add Logan Cunningham to our roster," said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kirt Hill. "Logan is a goaltender we are familiar with having played at NAX and being a Sherwood Park local. The opportunity to add another young goaltender to our group was something we had to strongly consider to continue to build our organization's goaltending depth. We look forward to Logan joining our team tomorrow."
The Edmonton Oil Kings next home game is Friday, December 30 when they play host to the Red Deer Rebels at 7:00 P.M.
