The Kelowna Rockets dropped their third consecutive game, falling 6-2 to the Kamloops Blazers on Wednesday night at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, BC.

Tied at one after twenty minutes of play, the Blazers blew out of the gates with four goals straight in a span of 5:30 early in the second period.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten powered Kamloops once again, recording his second hat-trick in as many nights against the Rockets.

GAME SUMMARY

Drew Englot (3) got Kamloops on the board first, but Carson Golder(14) responded with a power play goal for Kelowna.

Nathan MacPherson-Ridgewell(1) and Fraser Minten (17) scored back-to-back goals 1:31 apart early into the second period. The Rockets called a timeout, but Emmitt Finnie(4) then beat Kykkanen 2:46 after Minten's goal. Boyko then replaced Kykkanen in net for Kelowna. Minten(18) then added his second of the game minutes later while on the power play. Logan Peskett(3) while falling down beat Dylan Ernst to make it a three goal game heading into the third period.

Minten (19) completed the hat trick with the lone goal of the third period.

Kamloops outshot Kelowna 39-28

The Rockets were 1/3 on the power play, while the Blazers were 2/6

Fraser Minten was the game's first star, Emmitt Finnie was the second and Dylan Sydor was the third star

The Rockets record is now 12-16-3-0

Jari Kykkanen made the start for the Rockets but was replaced by Talyn Boyko in the second after allowing four goals on 16 shots. Boyko turned aside 21 of the 23 shots fired at him.

The Rockets will face the Blazers next on January 6th at Prospera Place

UP NEXT

The Rockets will be back in action on Friday, December 30th when they'll host the Seattle Thunderbirds for the final meeting in Kelowna between the two this season.
