Phoenix Mercury News Release

PHOENIX - Phoenix Mercury forward/center Nicole Ohlde has undergone successful surgery to repair a fractured scaphoid bone in her left wrist, the club announced today. The surgery took place this morning and was performed by Dr. Beth Purdy, a hand specialist at Gateway Surgery Center. Ohlde is expected to be sidelined 2-3 weeks.

The 6-5 Ohlde suffered the injury on July 11 at Sacramento. After missing the first six games of the season due to a broken left foot, she's appeared in every game since and has averaged 3.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks for the Mercury.

Phoenix takes on the Minnesota Lynx at US Airways Center on July 22, the last game before the All-Star Break. Lower-level tickets to the game can be purchased at phoenixmercury.com and start at just $10. The team then embarks on a ten-day, five-game road trip from July 26-August 4. Of that five-game road trip, four contests can be viewed live on phoenixmercury.com - July 26 at New York, July 30 at Atlanta, Aug. 1 at Minnesota and Aug. 4 at Seattle.
