Ofukany and Fritch Earn AHL Tryouts

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder announced Friday that left wing Troy Ofukany and defenseman Arthur Fritch will attend camp with an AHL squad this weekend.

Ofukany, entering his second professional season, has been invited to camp with the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. Ofukany finished last year among CHL rookie leaders in points, scoring 17 goals and 19 assists, while totaling 122 PIM in 62 games.

Fritch, a second-year defenseman, heads to New England where he will audition for the Worcester Sharks, AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks. Fritch scored 116 points in 96 games at Colby College before making his pro debut last season overseas in Holland where he notched 20 points in 36 games.

The Thunder opens the 2009-10 season on Friday, October 16th when they host the Amarillo Gorillas at the Kansas Coliseum. Season tickets and packages are on sale now. The Thunder hosts two exhibition contests against the expansion Missouri Mavericks on October 9th and 10th at the Wichita Ice Center. All seats are just $10.00 general admission.
