Offense Struggles to Start Second-Half

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (0-1, 37-34)struggled to get the offense going against Pensacola Blue Wahoos (1-0, 26-44) starter Tim Crabbe (3-6) in a 4-2 loss to open up the second half on Wednesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Crabbe went six innings and only allowed one run on two hits. The right-hander matched a season-high with seven strikeouts. The win was his first since he beat the Biscuits in Pensacola on May fifth.

After the Wahoos scored two runs in the top of the third to make it 2-0, the Biscuits got an RBI-single from Kevin Kiermaier in the bottom half of the inning to score Riccio Torrez and make it 2-1. Pensacola quickly expanded the lead with two more runs in the fifth to make it 4-1. Montgomery scored their last run of the game with an RBI-single from Torrez in the seventh to make it 4-2.

Offensively, the Biscuits never got going, only totaling four hits.

Game two is Thursday night at 7:05. RHP Michael Colla will head to the hill for the Biscuits while the Wahoos will send LHP Ryan Dennick to the mound.
