Northern Colorado Owlz News Release

The Owlz struggled offensively, only recording two hits, in a 5-2 loss to the Billings Mustangs in game one of a four game series.

The Mustangs got on the board in the third inning, scoring two runs. A two-run home run by Argenis Aldazoro to centerfield scored the games first runs. They added two more runs in the fourth inning to take a four run lead.

Billings took a five run lead after a solo homerun in the eighth inning.

The Owlz rallied late getting on the board in the ninth inning. After consecutive walks put Andrew Daniel and Wendell Soto on base, the bases were loaded after a pitch hit Wade Wass. A pass ball and a throwing error by the catcher scored both Daniel and Soto. The Owlz rally ended as the next two batters struck out and flew out.

On a night when the Owlz struggled offensively, Michael Hermosillo recorded one of Orem's two hits with a triple to centerfield in the eighth inning.

The Owlz will take on the Mustangs again Saturday at 7:05. That game can be heard on audio.oremowlz.com.
