Asheville, NC-- For the third straight game the Tourists offense scored double-digit runs; this time knocking off the Greenville Drive 14-6 in the series opener. The Tourists used an eight-run second inning to take control.

Asheville sent 11 hitters to the plate in the second. After Ryan McMahon flew out to begin the inning, the next six Tourists hitters all reach base on three singles and three walks. Zach Osborne hit a sacrifice fly for the second out but Pat Valaika, McMahon, and Ashley Graeter all followed with RBI doubles. The eight-run inning is the highest output of runs in a single inning for the Tourists this season.

In the third, Max White and David Dahl each had RBI base knocks to extend Asheville's lead to 10-0. The score remained the same until the top of the sixth as Tourists starting pitcher Alex Balog cruised through the first five frames.

Jantzen Witte put the Drive on the board with a three-run Homer in the sixth, but the Tourists responded with the game's next four runs. Greenville plated three in the top of the ninth but the outcome was never in doubt.

McMahon finished 3-for-5 with a game high 4 RBIs while Graeter continued his outstanding stretch with a 3-for-4 night. Dahl finished with two base hits and a pair of RBIs while White scored three runs. Balog notched his third win of the season with the great pitching performance.

The Tourists and the Drive continue their series on Sunday with an afternoon start time at 2:05pm.
