The GreenJackets have gone into extra innings three times this season, all of them played at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Currently the team stands at 2-1 in extra innings.
The GreenJackets plated one run in the third off of back to back bunts and a double to right center field. The Grasshoppers answered in the eighth with a double and a single. Greensboro's run was scored by Cody Keefer.
Extra innings were eventful for both teams. The Grasshoppers scored one run in the tenth off of a wild pitch by GreenJackets relief pitcher, Carlos Alvarado. After the Grasshoppers scored, the GreenJackets answered with one run plated by Eric Sim.
Greensboro's catcher, Chad Wallach, began the eleventh with a double to left field. A sacrifice bunt and a fielders choice allowed Wallach to score the team's final run. The GreenJackets then answered with two runs to win the game.
After Brandon Bednar singled to left field, Ryan Tuntland reached second on a forced attempt and fielding error by Greensboro. The same fielding error allowed Bednar to tie the game. With Tuntland on second, Eric Sim singled to left field and Tuntland scored the winning run.
