PREVIEW: The Shorebirds swept a doubleheader in Kannapolis with a pair of comeback victories over the Intimidators. Delmarva trailed 2-0 in both games before storming back for 5-2 and 4-2 wins. It was the third consecutive series win for Delmarva, and they will try to make it four in a row in Charleston, West Virginia.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Justin Topa will start the series opener for the West Virginia Power. Topa has compiled a 2-1 record with a 4.94 ERA in eight appearances (four starts) in 2014. The most recent start for Topa was a victory over the Greenville Drive, in which the righty allowed two runs on three hits in six innings. Last season, Topa was a reliever for the Jamestown Jammers, going 5-2 with a 2.19 ERA in 19 appearances. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Topa in the 17th round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of LIU-Brooklyn.

19TH SEASON: The 2014 season marks the 19th season of Shorebirds baseball on the Eastern Shore and 18th straight year as a Baltimore Orioles affiliate. The Shorebirds' first season was 1996 as a Montreal Expos farm team.

ORIOLES WATCH: The Baltimore Orioles made it two in a row over the Kansas City Royals, thanks to a complete game shutout by Chris Tillman. Baltimore beat former Oriole Jeremy Guthrie as Chris Davis hit his 3rd homer of the season in a 4-0 win. The O's are 22-18, in 1st place.

THE IRON IS HOT: 19 out of the 25 players on the Shorebirds active roster appeared for the Ab- erdeen IronBirds in 2013. The IronBirds put together an impressive season, making the playoffs for the first time in their 12-year franchise history. Aberdeen won the McNamara Division in the New York-Penn League with a 40-32 record. The IronBirds lost in the first round of the NYPL play- offs, losing 2 games to 0 against the Tri-City Valley Cats.

WHO'S HOT/WHO ELSE

On Tuesday, Wynns gave the Shorebirds a 2-1 walkoff win with an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was the third walkoff victory of the season for Del- marva. The Shorebirds catcher is in the middle of a 12-game hitting streak, having hit safely in every game played since April 30th.

WHO'S HOT - JIMMY YACABONIS

Through his first 13 appearances, the Del- marva closer has yet to allow a run. Yacabo- nis is perfect 10-for-10 in save opportunities with a 1-0 record. In 14.0 innings, Yacabonis has struck out 19 batters.

WHO ELSE - DREW DOSCH

In Kannapolis, Dosch hit his first two home runs of the season. On Friday, Dosch's two- run blast gave the Shorebirds a 4-2 in extra innings. The third baseman leads the team with a .310 batting average on the year.
