Odessa Waives Gelinas, Sets Goaltending Pair

ODESSA, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes made a roster move this morning by placing rookie netminder Marc-Antoine Gelinas on waivers. The team's goaltending duo will consist of veteran Joel Martin and first-year player, Jeremie Dupont.

Gelinas appeared in both of Odessa's preseason games as well as the team's first two games for the start of the regular season. In a pair of appearances, Gelinas was sporting a 1-1-0 record, 3.02 Goals Against Avg. and a .878 Save Percentage.

Martin returned to the Jackalopes yesterday after beginning the season with the American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He is expected to be in net on Friday when Odessa visits the Bloomington PrairieThunder. Martin is the reigning CHL Most Outstanding Goaltender.

Dupont (doo-PONT) joins the Jackalopes after a four-year career at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In three of his four years at UNO, Dupont tallied a GAA under three. Dupont's career at Nebraska consisted of 78 appearances, with a 27-30-14 record, a 2.95 GAA, and a .889 SV%.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
