Amarillo, TX 3/14/10 - Odessa forward Collin Circelli scored two goals and led the Jackalopes past the Amarillo Gorillas 2-1 Sunday evening.

The Jackalopes struck first for the 36th time this season when forward Collin Circelli ripped his shot from the far circle at the 8:58 mark. Gorillas goaltender Mike Brown made 8 saves in the frame, including a sprawling stick-save from left to right on Odessa's first power-play of the contest. Odessa 1, Amarillo 0 after one period.

Amarillo's penalty kill halted all three Odessa power-play attempts in the middle frame, while the Gorillas went to the second intermission 0-6 with the man advantage. Through two periods of play Amarillo still trailed Odessa 1-0.

The Gorillas cut Odessa's lead in half with a David Nimmo power-play goal at the 14:19 mark of the third. The Jacks held off a late Amarillo charge (Gorillas out shot the Jacks 9-7 in the third) and won 2-1.

Including his penalty shot save in the third, Mike Brown made 27 saves on 29 Jacks shots to earn the game's third star.David Nimmo continues to lead the Gorillas in power-play goals with 10.With a third period assist, Joe Guenther has 18 points over his last 11 contests.

The Gorillas will play their final home game of the 2009-2010 season Friday, March 19th versus the Rapid City Rush. Show tickets are only $10 as the puck drops at 7pm CST in the Amarillo Civic Center.
