NYRB II Travels to Face Indy Eleven for First Time Since 2019
May 20, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (1-8-1, 4 points) will travel to face Indy Eleven (4-3-2, 14 points) at Michael A. Carroll Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
Both sides will look to bounce back following losses in their last matches. New York fell 3-2 to Hartford Athletic on May 14, while Indy saw its six-match unbeaten streak snapped by Memphis 901 FC, 2-1, on May 14.
The two sides will meet for the sixth time in their history and the first time since the 2019 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. New York will look for its first win in Indianapolis, as each match in the all-time series has been won by the home side.
After two losses to open the 2022 season, Indy embarked on a six-match unbeaten streak which included a 3-1 victory over defending-champion Orange County SC. The club bolstered its attack early in the season with the signing of two-time USL Championship Most Valuable Player Solomon Asante.
Saturday's match marks the conclusion of a stretch for Red Bulls II in which it had three road matches over a four-match span. It is the longest such stretch that the club will have until August 20 to September 17, when it will play four of six on the road.
Following the match, New York will return home to conclude the month of May with a match against Birmingham Legion FC on Friday, May 27. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
