Substitute Adonijah Reid and Romeo Parkes combined for a goal in the last chance of the match. Parkes dished out a pass inside the box to Reid, and the Canadian beat a defender and kicked the ball hard enough to get it past the goalkeeper.
Head coach Anthony Pulis' side avoided back-to-back defeats thanks to heroics from the substitute pairing. Reid, who netted his first goal of the year against Miami United in U.S. Open Cup action, scored his first of the regular season. On the other hand, Parkes notched his first assist of the season.
The goal was Miami's first at home since April 16 in a 2-0 victory over Hartford Athletic and its first in 350 minutes of league play.
