Nuts Tie It Late, Fall 4-3 in Extras

Bakersfield, CA. - After the Modesto Nuts tied it in the seventh, Kyle Petty cracked a walk-off home run in the 13th for the Bakersfield Blaze to send the Nuts to a series loss with a 4-3 defeat at Sam Lynn Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon.

Troy Neiman had worked out of a jam in the 11th before tossing a perfect 12th inning for the Nuts (2-4). In the 13th, Logan Cozart (L, 0-1) allowed a solo home run to center off the bat of Kyle Petty to start the 13th and send the Nuts to the loss.

The Nuts had a few chances against the Blaze (2-4) bullpen but stranded four runners in scoring position in the 10th, 11th and 13th frames.

Isaac Sanchez (W, 1-0) tossed a perfect 13th inning for the Blaze with two strikeouts.

Wes Rogers reached five times at the top of the order with two triples and two runs scored.

Drew Weeks collected a pair of sac flies and Forrest Wall had tied the game in the seventh with a RBI single.

Jesus Tinoco bounced back after a rough first start with the Nuts to throw 5.1 innings allowing three runs and striking out two and walking one.

Anthony Misiewcz worked six innings in his start for the Blaze giving up two runs and striking out five.
