STOCKTON, Calif. - Brock Dykxhoorn tossed five strong innings and the Lancaster JetHawks (2-1) took advantage of a big error by the Stockton Ports (2-3) to take their second straight, 3-1, on Tuesday night at Banner Island Ballpark.

The miscue by Stockton came in the fourth and allowed the JetHawks to score a pair of unearned runs. Down 1-0 with one on and two out, Alejandro Garcia struck out swinging on a pitch in the dirt, but the throw from catcher Argenis Raga was wild and allowed Jamie Ritchie to score from second. After Garcia stole second, Kristian Trompiz came through with an RBI single to put the JetHawks in front to stay.

Lancaster added an insurance run in the fifth on Ritchie's RBI single, his second hit of the night.

Brock Dykxhoorn (1-0) tossed five strong innings in his Cal League debut to earn the win, striking out six. He survived a rocky first inning by allowing just one run and stranding a pair in scoring position. The right-hander allowed six hits and did not walk a batter.

Angel Heredia, in his first appearance of the season, pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen and struck out one. Eric Peterson threw a pair of shutout innings and Riley Ferrell earned his first save with a scoreless ninth and tallied a pair of punch outs.

Lancaster was successful in its first three stolen base attempts of the night. When Jason Martin stole second and third consecutively in the sixth, it made the JetHawks 11-for-11 in stolen base attempts to begin the season. Nick Tanielu was caught stealing to end the top of the seventh, which broke the streak.

The JetHawks and Ports conclude their three-game series tomorrow night at Banner Island Ballpark. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m., with the pre-game coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1380 and jethawks.com.
