ATLANTIC CITY- The North Shore Spirit trounced the Atlantic City Surf 14-8 before 1621 at Bernie Robbins Stadium Friday night. The Spirit offensive attack was paced by shortstop Jerson Perez who was 4 for 6 with five RBI and three runs scored.
North Shore's Darren Blakely was 2 for 5 with four RBI as the Spirit scored in every inning but the first, eighth and ninth. North Shore upped its record to 4-4; Atlantic City dropped to 5-3. North Shore pounded out 18 hits on the evening.
Anthony Granato continued his hot hitting for Atlantic City going 3 for 4 with three RBI on the night. Donovan Graves (0-2) took the loss for Atlantic City while Joey Siak he is 1-0, picked up the win for North Shore. Siak worked six innings and allowed eight hits and four earned runs. Trailing 14-4 going into the bottom of the ninth the Surf scored four runs and didn't go down quietly.
The two teams meet again Saturday night at 7:05 PM when Atlantic City's Monte Mansfield, (1-0) meets North Shore's Chris Farley, (1-0).
