
Norfolk Signs Forward Shawn Limpright

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that they have signed left wing Shawn Limpright to an AHL standard player's contract. In keeping with club policy terms of the agreement was not disclosed.
"Shawn has a reputation of being a feisty, agitating type of player," stated Admirals General Manager Al MacIsaac. "He's the kind of player our fans will appreciate for his hard work and intense play."
Limpright, 21, appeared in 54 games last year for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL), tallying 28 goals, 33 assists (61 points) and 133 penalty minutes. The 5'11", 178 lbs. forward was second on the squad in goals and points, first in power play goals (10), and tied for second in assists.
In four seasons with Moose Jaw, the St. Adolphe, Man., native has accumulated 93 lamplighters, 127 helpers (220 points) and 540 PIM. Entering 2001-02, Limpright was the active career scoring leader on the Warriors, having posted 65 goals and 159 points over three seasons.
