Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY – The HERSHEY Bears announced today that they have reached a working agreement with the Edmonton Oilers for the 2002-2003 season.

As part of the agreement, the Oilers will assign two to three of its contracted players to the Bears. The Oilers will determine which players will be designated for assignment when Edmonton opens its training camp in September.

The Bears are expecting to receive at least one forward and one defenseman from the Oilers, who will continue to utilize the Hamilton Bulldogs as their primary AHL affiliate. Due to the fact that the Bulldogs are also receiving players this year from the Montreal Canadiens, the Oilers entered into this agreement with the Bears.

The Bears enjoyed a similar agreement last season with the Florida Panthers, who assigned Matt Herr, Rocky Thompson, Brad Norton, Dave MacIsaac and Andrew Allen to HERSHEY.
