Nolan Earns Third League Honor

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals star goaltender Rob Nolan was named IHL Goaltender of the Week for the eighteenth week of the 2009-10 IHL season. The award is the third time this season Nolan has been recognized by the league for his performance between the pipes for the Generals.

Friday night in Port Huron, Nolan stopped 26 of the 27 shots faced for a.962 save percentage and a GAA of1.00. The win gave the Generals their second straight win over the IceHawks, both on the road.

He got the nod again Saturday when the teams met at Perani Arena and for the second night in a row Nolan was more than solid in net. Through 60:00 minutes of play, he stopped 35 of 36 shots faced for a GAA of 1 and a save percentage of.972.

Nolan first earned recognition from the league back in week seven, then again for week eleven.

Due to the rescheduling of the 10:30AM February 16th game, the Generals and Nolan return to the ice this Friday at 7:30 PM when they host the Dayton Gems for Swartz Creek vs. Flushing City Pride Night.

It is also the return of Facebook Fridays which allows fans to get up to three (3) $5 END ZONE tickets for the upcoming Friday game. Fans can become followers of the Flint Generals Group on Facebook, print off the "Facebook Friday" photo that is posted on the group page and bring the printed photo with them to the Perani Arena Ticket Office when they purchase their tickets.
