
Ninth Inning Rally Lifts Snappers

Cedar Rapids took a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning. Hainley Statia doubled home Brad Coon for the first run of the inning. Statia stole third with Patrick Reilly at the plate. Snappers starting pitcher Ryan Mullins fanned Reilly for the second out of the inning. With Mark Trumbo at the plate Statia stole home to give Cedar Rapids a 2-0 lead. Mullins struck out Trumbo to end the inning. Beloit waited until the bottom of the ninth to get on the scoreboard. The Snappers tied the game with a series of singles, wild pitches and passed balls. Patterson singled to start the inning. Drew Thompson flew out to center for the first out of the inning. Patterson ended up on third with one out after a wild pitch and a passed ball. Paul Kelly drove Patterson in with a single to cut the lead to 2-1. Kelly advanced to third after a wild pitch and a passed ball with Eric Lis at the plate. Lis singled Kelly in to tie the game at two. Henry Sanchez followed with a deep fly out to center. With two outs Lis stole second and Dwayne White walked. Eli Tintor singled down the right field line, scoring Lis to win the game.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers host their in-state rival the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers April 10-12. First pitch is set for 6:30 pm, Monday April 10 at Pohlman Field.
