Nikulnikov Added to Cats Protected List
January 13, 2011 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Moncton Wildcats News Release
The Moncton Wildcats have added Russian forward Alexander Nikulnikov to their protected list. Nikulnikov, 17, was originally drafted by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the 2010 Euro draft but has been playing for the Shelburne Red Wings Jr A hockey team in Ontario. Nikulnikov presently leads the league with 99 points (49 goals, 50 assists in 28 games).
"We had an open spot on our list with only one European (Marek Hrivik) and have have placed Nikulnokov on our 50 man list. He has impressive numbers for a 17 year old, we had good feedback from our network so we opted to add him to our list."
Nikulnikov is not elegible to join the Wildcats until the 2011-2012 season.
