Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons suffered their 7th shutout loss of the season Saturday, falling to the Jacksonville Suns by a score of 6-0 in front of 6,425 fans at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Suns starter Justin Nicolino (7-2, 3.04) allowed just five hits and struck out four in a complete game shutout. Josh Richmond finished with two of the Barons' five hits, going 2-for-3.

Barons starter Myles Jaye (0-7, 6.66) allowed six runs on eight hits over 5.2 IP in his first start since returning from the Barons after a four-start stint with Class A Winston-Salem.

The Suns took a 2-0 lead in the 4th inning on an RBI groundout by Brady Shoemaker and a sacrifice fly by AustinBarnes. The lead grew to 6-0 in the 6th on RBI singles by AustinNola, Rich Poythress and Alfredo Silverio. Nola finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in the game.

The loss dropped the Barons to 1-2 in the second half and 30-43 on the season while the win gave the Suns a 2-1 record in the second half and a 38-35 record overall. The Barons will look to rebound tomorrow afternoon as LHP Scott Snodgress (3-6, 4.64) takes the hill against RHP Jose Urena (6-4, 4.07). First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 PM CDT.
