Nickelback Headlines Lynx Stadium Concert

OTTAWA - Peanuts and Cracker Jack meets Rock and Roll this summer.

Nickelback, one of the most successful bands in Canadian history headlines a huge concert event July 5th at Lynx Stadium, home of the Ottawa Lynx baseball club. Puddle of Mudd and Daughtry will help Nickelback knock this show out of the park. Doors open at 5 pm July 5th.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 4th at noon and cost $59.50 for general admission tickets on the field, $57.50 for reserved seating in the lower level stands and $39.50 for reserved seating in the upper level stands (plus service charges and taxes). A limited number of eight- and 12-person suites will also be available. Composed of singer/guitar player Chad Kroeger, singer/guitar player Ryan Peake, bass player Mike Kroeger and drummer Daniel Adair, Nickelback has sold more than 23 million albums worldwide and have won nine Juno Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and one American Music Award. On June 9th, 2007, Nickelback will be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame.

Known for their smash hits "How You Remind Me," "Too Bad" and "Photograph" among others, Nickelback will make their first trip to Lynx Stadium. The band's current single, "If Everyone Cared", has raised $400,000 for charity so far.

Puddle of Mudd gained mainstream success in 2001 with their album "Come Clean," which was certified Triple Platinum. Their single "She Hates Me" hit #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Daughtry is fronted by American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry. The Daughtry track "Wanted Dead or Alive" is the most downloaded song from American Idol's Season 5 Encores album, with over 100,000 downloads and counting. Their debut single "It's Not Over" spent nine weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart and was certified Platinum last month.

Lynx Stadium has hosted one concert before, the Stardust Picnic in July 1998, featuring Blue Rodeo and Great Big Sea. The Stadium also played host to the Opening Ceremonies for last summer's Ontario Summer Games and Molson SnoJam.
