New York Liberty News Release
NEW YORK - The New York Liberty has drafted 6-0 guard/forward, Okako Adika, from USC with the team's No. 30 overall selection in the 2023 WNBA Draft Presented by State Farm.
"Okako Adika is a promising talent who we're really excited about," said Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb. "As a versatile 3-and-D wing with familiarity in a pro-style offense, she's someone who we can really use down the line."
Adika, a native of Holstebro, Denmark, most recently represented USC as a graduate student. In her 2022-2023 campaign with the Trojans, Okako averaged 7.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 38.7% (43-111) from three-point range.
With tonight's selection, Adika became the Liberty's first USC draftee in franchise history.
