Uncasville, CT - With the 34th pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm®, the Connecticut Sun selected Ashten Prechtel from Stanford University.
Prechtel joins the Connecticut Sun after four successful seasons at Stanford University. She also has picked up Pac-12 All-Freshman Team Honorable Mention (2020) and Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year- Media (2020) honors throughout her career at Stanford. One of her most notable performances came in the 2021 Elite Eight against Louisville where she scored 16 second-half points, including going 3-of-3 from behind the arc, to help Stanford overcome a 12-point deficit and advance to the Final Four.
"Ashten is a player we have had our eye on for a long time," said Darius Taylor Connecticut Sun General Manager. "We are happy that we were able to add a big that can shoot the ball from the perimeter and give us versatility in the post."
