Connecticut Sun Donate $48,000 Through Game-Action Giveback

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Throughout the Connecticut Sun's 2026 season, the organization tracked free throws, blocks, three-pointers and and-ones. Each basketball-related accomplishment is correlated to a specific donation amount benefiting different organizations. In total, the Sun donated $48,000 through these programs.

Threes for Degrees, presented by Post University, donates $100 for every three-pointer made by a Sun player at home games. With 131 three-pointers made throughout the 2026 season, and a capped donation up to $10,000, the Sun helped fund two scholarships for Amia Beasley and Nicole Ramirez, both currently enrolled at Post University.

Free Throws for Change, presented by BuildSubmarines.com, donates $20 to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and the US Naval Sea Cadets Nautilus (SSN-571 Division). With 347 free throws made and a total donation of $10,000, each organization received $5,000.

Presented by Yale New Haven Health, the Sun donated $50 to the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital for every block recorded at home this season. A total of 98 blocks generated $4,900, and the Sun contributed an additional $13,100, bringing the total donation to $18,000.

Anthen And-One, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Sheild and CarelonRx, donated $100 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven for every and-one made at home, resulting in a total donation of $10,000.

Established in 2003, the Connecticut Sun is a professional women's basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association that takes residence at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.
