Uncasville, CT - Victoria Macaulay and Botas defeated Emlak Konut, 85-64, in Game 2 of the Turkish League Quarterfinals on Monday, April 3. Macaulay tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks in the win. On Wednesday, April 5, Macaulay and Botas defeated Emlak Konut, 68-42, in Game 3 of the Turkish League Quarterfinals. Macaulay notched six points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. On Friday, April 7, Macaulay and Botas fell to CBK Mersin, 93-65, in Game 1 of the Turkish League Semifinal series. Macaulay had nine points, five rebounds, three assists, four steals and one block in the effort. On Sunday, April 9, Macaulay and Botas dropped Game 2 of the Turkish League Semifinals to CBK Mersin, 68-57. Macaulay tallied seven points, nine rebounds, one assist, five steal and one block. With the loss, Botas is eliminated from the Turkish League playoffs.
Natisha Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod took home an 81-72 win over Ramat Hasharon in Game 3 of the WBL Semifinals on Monday, April 3. Hiedeman finished with 15 points, four rebounds, six assists and one steal as Maccabi Ashdod moves onto the WBL Finals series with the win.
Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Prague defeated Hradec Kralove, 116-62, in Game 1 of the Czech League Semifinals on Tuesday, April 4. Jones led the way with 25 points, eight rebounds and one block. Thomas tallied 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in the win. On Thursday, April 6, Jones, Thomas and USK Prague picked up another victory against Hradec Kralove, 109-48, in Game 2 of the Czech League Semifinals. Jones finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, two assists, four steals and two blocks. Thomas notched a double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and two steals. On Saturday, April 8, Jones, Thomas and USK Prague defeated Hradec Kralove, 90-44, in Game 3 of the Czech League Semifinals. Jones finished with 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks, while Thomas added eight points, seven rebounds, nine assists and one steal. With the win, USK Prague takes the series, 3-0, and moves onto the Czech League Finals.
Lauren Cox and Valencia defeated Spanish League opponent, Gernika, 83-64, on Wednesday, April 5. Cox tallied 15 points, four rebounds, one steal and two blocks in the win. On Sunday, April 9, Cox and Valencia dropped a contest to Avenida, 86-78. Cox finished with six points, three rebounds, one assist and three steals in the effort.
Tiffany Hayes and CBK Mersin defeated Botas in Game 1 of the Turkish League Semifinal series, 93-65, on Friday, April 7. Hayes led her team with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists in the victory. On Sunday, April 9, Hayes and CBK Mersin defeated Botas in Game 2 of the Turkish League Semifinal series, 68-57. Hayes led the way once again with 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals as CBK Mersin takes the series, 2-0.
Mikiah Herbert Harrigan and the London Lions defeated the Newcastle Eagles, 88-36, on Sunday, April 9. Herbert Harrigan led her team with 22 points, three rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block as the London Lions move to 15-1 on the season.
Connecticut Sun players are back in overseas action this week beginning with Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod taking on Elitzur Ramla at 10:00 AM ET; and Herbert Harrigan and the London Lions facing off against the Nottingham Wildcats at 11:00 AM ET on April 10. Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod play Elitzur Ramla at 12:00 PM ET on April 13. On April 14, Jones, Thomas and USK Prague face off against Hayes and CBK Mersin at 12:00 PM ET. Herbert Harrigan and the London Lions play the Durham Palatinates at 8:00 AM ET; and Cox and Valencia take on IDK Gipuzkoa at 1:00 PM ET on April 15. To close out the week, Herbert Harrigan and the London Lions play the Leicester Riders at 12:15 PM ET on April 16.
