New York City Football Club Announces Date, Time & Venues for Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals Matches

New York City FC News Release
New York, N.Y. - New York City Football Club can confirm the dates, times and venues for the Club's upcoming Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) tie against Guatemalan side Comunicaciones FC.
The home leg will be held on Tuesday, March 8 at 8:00pm ET at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, CT, and the away leg will take place on March 15 at 8:00pm ET at Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores in Guatemala City. NYCFC has progressed to the SCCL quarterfinals for the second time in Club history after defeating Costa Rican club Santos de Guápiles Fútbol Club 6-0 on aggregate.
Following the SCCL first leg match, NYCFC will play its first home game of the MLS regular season as defending MLS Cup Champions at Yankee Stadium against Montréal on March 12.
The Club's primary and secondary home venues, Yankee Stadium and Citi Field, remain unapproved by CONCACAF and Red Bull Arena is unavailable for this match. NYCFC has played competitive matches at Pratt & Whitney Stadium on two previous occasions, hosting the Houston Dynamo during the 2017 MLS season and against Toronto FC in 2020 when the stadium served as the Canadian side's home stadium due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Club will provide transportation to Pratt & Whitney Stadium for its Registered Supporter Groups.
NYCFC CEO, Brad Sims, said: "Following our win against Santos, we're ready and motivated to continue progressing through the Champions League. This is an important and prestigious tournament, and everyone at the Club is focused on building upon last year's success to bring more silverware to New York City.
"It's disappointing for us that Yankee Stadium and Citi Field are not CONCACAF approved venues and that Pratt & Whitney Stadium is the closest approved and available venue. However, Pratt & Whitney is an excellent stadium for soccer as evidenced by the many USMNT, USWNT, international and MLS matches played there. While we know this is certainly not a convenient location for many of our fans, we hope some supporters will be able to make the journey to support the team in this important game.''
