June 30, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - CF Montréal announced Thursday that, through a modified voting process, fans will once again have a say in determining this season's Club Most Valuable Player, who will receive the Giuseppe-Saputo Trophy, as well as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Through the Helix-Vidéotron Player of the Game fan vote awarded at the end of each game, all Players of the Game for the 2022 season will be ranked and awarded points according to their final placement: first place, 12 points; second place, 10 points; third place, 8 points; fourth place, 6 points and fifth place, 4 points.
These awarded points will contribute towards determining 50% of a player's score, while the other 50% will be drawn from points awarded by the Club's sporting staff rankings.
The three players with the most points overall will be shortlisted for the final fan vote after the season.
Fans are invited to vote for their Helix-Vidéotron Player of the Game as of the 70th minute of each game on the Club website.
