New England Revolution Academy Highlights: September 22, 2021

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution Academy embarked on its first road trip of the 2021 MLS NEXT Fall season, with all four teams traveling to New York City for matches at Met Oval and BW Gottschee. The Under-19, Under-17, and Under-14 squads all picked up wins over Met Oval on Saturday while the Under-15s played to a 1-1 draw. On Sunday, the U-19s, U-15s, and U-14s dispatched BW Gottschee.

Additionally, Revolution Academy graduates Justin Rennicks, Damian Rivera, and Noel Buck each scored for Revolution II in their victory over the Richmond Kickers in USL League One action last Friday. Seven Revolution Academy graduates featured for Revolution II that match, with MLS signees Justin Rennicks and Damian Rivera starting the contest alongside fellow Academy product Noel Buck. Revs Academy products Colby Quiñones, Hikaru Fujiwara, Tyler Freitas, and Meny Silva all came off the bench in the winning effort.

This Saturday, all four Revolution Academy squads will host Beachside SC, while Revolution II will hit the road to face League One table-toppers Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET (ESPN+). This week, 18 Revolution Academy players earned the opportunity to train with the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team Regional Identification Center in New York. The Regional Identification Center helps provide a pathway to future youth national team call-ups for the country's top players.

2006 ID Center Invitees: Ryan Carney, Giuseppe Ciampa, Henrique Dias, Olger Escobar, Enzo Goncalves, Jamie Kabuusu, Alejandro Palacio, and Alex Rapo.

Also invited but cannot attend: Kian Charris and Benaiah Hanson.

2007 ID Center Invitees: Raphael Alves, Peyton Miller, Rudy Figueroa, Aiden Reilly, Kevin Machado, Sage Kinner, Simon Henao, and Alvin Depina.

Revolution MLS NEXT & Alumni Highlights

Midfielder Jack Panayotou (2004 - Cambridge, Mass.) recorded three assists in two games for the U-19s over the weekend, including setting up forward Greg Cook (2004 - Las Vegas, Nev.) for a pair of goals.

Goalkeepers Max Weinstein (2004 - Montpelier, Vt.) and Matthew Tibbetts (2004 - Westborough, Mass.) each recorded a clean sheet for the U-19s, with the former seeing his first action of the season.

Defender Esteban Lopera (2005 - Revere, Mass.) scored a goal and added an assist for the U-17s in their win over Met Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Forward Peyton Miller (2007 - Unionville, Conn.) scored three goals in two games over the weekend, including his third game winner of the season in Sunday's win over BW Gottschee for the U-15s. Miller's nine goals in six games are tied for the program lead this season with U-14s forward Cristiano Carlos (2008 - Chicopee Mass.).

Forward Raphael Alves (2007 - Framingham, Mass.) added a pair of helpers for the U-15s on Sunday, recording his second game-winning assist of the season.

Forward Cristiano Carlos (2008 - Chicopee Mass.) found the back of the net three times over the weekend for the U-14s, two of them proving to be game winners. Forward Mesud Ramic (2008 - Weare, N.H.) and midfielder Camilo Moreno (2008 - Peabody, Mass.) pitched in with two goals and two assists, respectively.

Goalkeeper Kaleb Curran (2008 - Londonderry, N.H.) recorded two more clean sheets to give him three on the season. Behind Curran, the U-14s have raced out to a 5-0-0 start and have outscored opponents 22-2 in those matches.
