
Nets Face the Music and Fall to Go-Go at Home

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets (7-6), the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, were defeated by the Capital City Go-Go (7-5), 110-106 in a back-to-back set on Wednesday evening at Nassau Coliseum.
Long Island guard Kyler Edwards recorded a season-high 25 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 37 minutes. Brooklyn two-way guard Keon Johnson tallied 19 points, six rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block in 31 minutes. While on assignment with Long Island, Noah Clowney added 10 points, five rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes. Nets guard Keifer Sykes posted 11 points, four rebounds, five assists and one steal in 23 minutes. Additionally, Brooklyn assignee Dariq Whitehead notched nine points, two rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes.
The two teams went back-and-forth in the first quarter, but despite Long Island shooting 42.7 percent from the field, it was not enough to come out ahead. Capital City closed the period ahead by one, 22-21. The Nets worked hard in the second quarter, outscoring the Go-Go 32-23 on 50.0 percent shooting from the field and 42.7 percent from distance to take the lead overall. Long Island went into halftime ahead by eight, 53-45.
Despite the Nets shooting a balanced 50.0 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from behind the arc led by Long Island guard Kyler Edwards' 12 points, the Go-Go outscored the Nets 38-30 in the third quarter. The two teams closed the period tied, 83-83. Capital City outscored Long Island 27-23 in the final quarter, and the Go-Go went on to defeat the Nets by four, 110-106.
Washington two-way forward Jules Bernard posted 23 points, four rebounds, six assists and one steal in 36 minutes. Go-Go guard Devon Dotson added 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes. Capital City guard Hamidou Diallo recorded 21 points, five rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes.
Long Island will travel to face Delaware on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m., while Capital City will return home to face Westchester on Friday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. ET.
