
Netminder Askey and D-man Wilson sign on with Titans

TRENTON, NJ (September 12, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced on Monday they have agreed to terms with goaltender Tom Askey and defenseman Aaron Wilson for the 2005-06 season.
A ten-year professional who has spent the majority of his playing days in the American Hockey League, Askey joins the Titans after five seasons with the Rochester Americans (AHL). During his time with the Amerks, the Tonawanda, NY native compiled a 54-45-16 record with a 2.54 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
Askey, 6'2", 200 lbs, was originally an eighth round draft pick (#186 overall) of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After four years at Ohio State University, Askey began his pro career in 1996-97 with the Baltimore Bandits (AHL). He then moved onto the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks for the following two seasons, while also making seven appearances with their National Hockey League Affiliate, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Overall, Askey is 109-114-31 in 278 games with a 2.94 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
Wilson, 23, enters his second professional season after splitting last year with the Fort Wayne Komets and Motor City Mechanics of the United Hockey League and the Jacksonville Barracudas of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The native of Pickering, ONT tallied 2 goals, 6 assists and 55 penalty minutes in 38 games. Prior to beginning his pro career, the 6'4", 220 lb defenseman skated for three seasons with the University of Toronto, notching 16 points (2g, 14a) and 128 PIM over 79 games.
