Waterloo Bucks News Release
Waterloo, IA - With Waterloo's 3-0 shutout of the Eau Claire Express at renovated Riverfront Stadium on Sunday, Bucks Manager Jason Nell became the sixth-winningest manager in Northwoods League history. The victory was the 159th of Nell's career, moving him past former Bucks skipper Eric Snider on the all-time career wins list.
Snider, a Waterloo native who was the first manager of the Bucks from 1995-98, compiled a 158-67 mark during his four-year tenure, which included a league championship in 1996. He was named to the league's All-Decade Team in 2005 and was one of three members of the Bucks' inaugural Hall-of-Fame class in 2006.
Nell's career record in the NWL now stands at 161-152, following Waterloo's 5-2 win at Madison Tuesday night. Nell compiled a 108-94 record while guiding the Mankato MoonDogs from 2006-08. Currently in the middle of his second season at Waterloo, Nell's overall record with the Bucks is 53-58 (31-39, 2010; 22-19, 2011). He's the second-winningest active manager in the Northwoods League, behind Eau Claire's Dale Varsho.
