CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (37-17-3-1; 78pts) raced out to 5-0 first period lead and never looked back in a 7-0 shutout of the Ontario Reign (21-28-6-2; 50pts) in front of 7,932 on Saturday. D Ethan Bear (2g-2a) and LW Tyler Benson (1g-3a) each had four points.
Bakersfield scored five goals in a period for the sixth time this season. Only eight other teams have scored five in a period once. With the win, the Condors are 21-2-1 in their last 24 games and are 11-0-3 in their last 14 games on Saturdays.
The Condors magic number is eight to clinch a playoff berth and are eight points atop the Pacific Division.
