Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to announce that quarterback Nealon Greene has been named the CFL Offensive Player-of-the-Week.
Greene led the Riders through the air and on the ground in their victory over Calgary on Sunday. The six-year veteran completed 21 of 39 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed the ball six times for 80 yards.
For the second time in his career Greene has surpassed the 3,000 yards passing mark and he leads the CFL quarterbacks with 689 rushing yards this season. Greene last won this award in 2000 as a member of the Edmonton Eskimos.
The Riders have already had a number of players grab the league's weekly and monthly honours. Andrew Greene has won the Lineman-of-the-Week award three times, while Shonte Peoples has won once. Reggie Hunt and Davin Bush have picked up Defensive Player-of-the-Week honours, while Kenton Keith was given the nod as top Offensive Player. Andrew Greene and Reggie Hunt were also selected as Players-of-the-Month in July.
