
Neal assigned to Idaho, four players released

(Boise, ID) - The Idaho Steelheads made several roster moves on Monday as the team begins preparations for the regular-season opener Friday night at home against Stockton.
First, the team has been assigned forward Michael Neal by the NHL's Dallas Stars. The 20-year-old winger has appeared in three games with the AHL's Texas Stars to start the season after spending five years playing junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League. He's the younger brother of Dallas forward James Neal.
Also, Steelheads head coach Derek Laxdal has released the following players from training camp: F Matt Cook, F Chris Myers, F Matt Crowell, and D Tyrell Mason.
Opening Night is Friday night at Qwest Arena, when the Steelheads host the Stockton Thunder. It is Project Filter Schedule Magnet Giveaway night and the team will be on the ice for post-game autographs. It's also the first 4-for-$44 promotion of the season.
