Johnstown Chiefs News Release

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today the promotional schedule for their first five home games of the 2009-10 season.

"The Chiefs organization is thrilled that the start of the 2009-10 season is finally upon us. We are pleased that SMG and the Cambria County War Memorial have worked with us to create exciting promotions for the start of our season. As we continue, we are confident that the entire fan experience will be more affordable and enjoyable than ever. And I couldn't ask for better way to kick off the season than with our traditional CTC Magnet Schedule giveaway and an appearance by none other than Dave Hanson," said Vice President and General Manager Bill Bredin.

The Chiefs will open their season in grand fashion on Saturday, October 17 against the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:30. They will have former Johnstown Jets great and Slap Shot star Dave Hanson as their special guest. Hanson will be meeting fans along with selling and signing copies of his book, "Slap Shot Original: The Man, The Foil, The Legend," and dropping the ceremonial first puck. Hanson will be available from 6:30 until 7:15 and from the start of the first period until the start of the second period in the Slap Shot Lounge area of the War Memorial. The Chiefs will also be giving away 2009-10 magnet schedules courtesy of Concurrent Technologies Corporation.

On Saturday, October 24 the Chiefs will be having their first double header with the UPJ Icecats as well as the "Bic Welcome Back Bonanza Giveaway." Scores of Bic products like markers, pens, mechanical pencils, and razors will be given away when the Chiefs take on the Elmira Jackals at 7:05 p.m. UPJ takes on Gannon at 2:30 with adult and senior Chiefs season ticket holders being able to purchase tickets for just $3 with their season ticket holder identification cards. Student season ticket holders can get in for a buck.

Johnstown takes on Reading on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:35 p.m. in the return of the Chiefs' Post-Veteran's Day Parade Celebration. The Chief are proud to offer $5 tickets to all armed service veterans and active members. Johnstown will also don special camouflage jerseys that will be auctioned off live immediately following the game.

Friday, November 13 will be the first Dollar Dog Friday of the season courtesy of SMG. Hot dogs are $1 for everyone in attendance! The Chiefs will be hosting their archrival Wheeling Nailers that night at 7:05 p.m., and it will be Chiefs' fans first chance to take advantage of the Em's Original Sub Shop Friday Meal Deal. For just $10 you will get an Em's sandwich, a soda, a bag of chips, and a voucher good for that night's Chiefs game. The Meal Deal can be purchased at any of the Em's locations.

Finally on Wednesday, November 25th the Chiefs are proud to offer for the first time the Wendy's Wednesday Family Four Pack when they take on the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m. For $44 families will be able to get four tickets, four hot dogs, four drinks, and four boxes of popcorn!
