(Norwich, Conn.) -- Navigators First Baseman Tyler Von Schell ripped a game-winning RBI single to center in the 10th inning, as the Navigators defeated the New Britain Rock Cats 5-4 at Dodd Stadium tonight.

The back-and-forth game featured two ties and three lead changes as the teams were knotted at four through nine innings. In the bottom of the 10th, Tim Hutting led off with a walk off lefty Jason Miller (1-2). Julio Cordido sacrificed Hutting to 2nd but Dan Ortmeier popped out to centerfield for the second out. Carlos Valderrama was intentionally walked, bringing up Von Schell. Miller was pulled in favor of righty Bobby Korecky who was making his first appearance of the season after being activated off the disabled list yesterday. Korecky got two quick strikes on Von Schell, but Tyler fouled off several tough pitches before lacing a solid single to center, scoring Hutting and giving Norwich their second walk-off win of the season.

Oscar Montero (2-1) pitched a perfect top of the 10th, striking out two to pick up the win for Norwich. Miller (1-2) was charged with the loss. The Navigators have had two walk-off wins this season, both have been on RBI singles by Tyler Von Schell and both took place after the hitter in front of Von Schell was intentionally walked to get to him. The Navigators hit the road for their longest road trip of the season, starting tomorrow night with a weekend series at New Hampshire. Righty James Garcia will take the mound for Norwich and he will be opposed by Fisher Cats righty Cam Reimers. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
