Naturals Release 2016 Regular Season Schedule

SPRINGDALE, AR - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are excited to release the entire 2016 Texas League regular season schedule and subsequent home games. Season tickets for Season Nine will be available to the public on Monday, August 24.

The Naturals 2016 season will officially begin on Thursday, April 7, 2016 for Opening Day at Arvest Ballpark. The opening 6-game homestand of Season Nine will feature games against the Texas League South Division with three (3) coming against the Frisco RoughRiders (Double-A Texas Rangers) and then another three (3) against the Midland RockHounds (Double-A Oakland Athletics).

The 2016 regular season consists of one-hundred and forty games (140) with seventy (70) of those coming at Arvest Ballpark. The Texas League regular season schedule will stretch from Thursday, April 7 through Monday, September 5 and unlike the 2015 season, the Naturals will both begin and end the regular season with home games at Arvest Ballpark. That home portion of the 2016 regular season schedule is highlighted by thirty-three (33) games that will occur over the weekend on either a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Arvest Ballpark will once again be the place to be over the summer holidays in 2016. The team will host games over Fourth of July as they'll be in town from Thursday, June 30 through Tuesday, July 5. Northwest Arkansas will also close out the regular season over Labor Day weekend with the final home game coming against the Arkansas Travelers on Labor Day - Monday, September 5, 2016.

The home campaign consists of sixteen (16) games against the Springfield Cardinals (Double-A St. Louis Cardinals), as well as fourteen (14) games against the Arkansas Travelers (Double-A Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim). Northwest Arkansas will also host each team from the Texas League South Division (Midland, Frisco, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi) six (6) times during the year.

May 4, May 18, and May 23 have been tabbed as our three (3) School Kids Day Games during Season Nine of Naturals Baseball with each game scheduled to begin at 11:05 a.m. while our Summer Camp Day game will be played on Wednesday, June 22 at 12:05 p.m.

The 80th Annual Texas League All-Star Game will be played in Springfield at the home of the Cardinals on Tuesday, June 28. This will mark the fourth time in five (5) years that a team from the Texas League North Division has hosted the mid-summer showcase.

The Naturals will be passing out 2016 pocket schedules with our home dates listed during the final homestand of the regular season, August 25 through August 31, and during our home playoff games during the Texas League North Divisional Series on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10. Pocket schedules will also be available for fans at our Administrative Offices and a printable PDF copy of the schedule will be available online at the Naturals' official website, www.nwanaturals.com, in the coming days.
