Naturals Keep Rolling 7-4 Over Travs

Arvest Ballpark, Springdale, Arkansas - The Travs handed Anthony Ortega (8-7) a four-run lead thanks to a fourth-inning rally that saw Brian Stavisky hit a three-run homer (8). The Northwest Arkansas Naturals tied the game in the next half inning and scored seven unanswered runs sending the Travs to a 7-4 loss. Ortega allowed six runs in the fourth and fifth innings with Cody Clark's RBI double breaking a tie score in the sixth. The Travs managed just two base hits in the last five innings in dropping their 15th game in 20. Chris Pettit led the Travs with three base hits including two doubles.

Ortega failed in his fourth try for his ninth victory, finishing six innings and allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk. After retiring the first nine Naturals hitters, Ortega struggled through the middle three innings in losing for the third consecuive start.

Northwest Arkansas had LHP John Bale pitch a 1-2-3 inning on a Major League rehab start. LHP Rowdy Hardy (4-8) took it from there to earn his first win against the Travs. Hardy allowed four runs on seven base hits, two walks and five strikeouts in 5.1 innings. NWA's Greg Atencio was perfect over 2.2 innings for his second save.

After three quick innings, the Travs scored four times in the fourth inning getting a single by Wil Ortiz and a walk to Adam Morrissey Brian Stavisky hammered a three-run opposite-field homer. Chris Pettit followed with a double into the left-field corner and came home when Cody Fuller singled with two outs for a 4-0 lead.

The Naturals wasted no time in tying the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jose Duarte hit a leadoff single then scored when Marc Maddox lined a 3-2 pitch into the left-field corner. Ortega walked Mario Lisson bringing the tying run to the bat. Kila Kaaihue knocked in Maddox with a single to right field, and an RBI single by Juan Richardson cut the Travs lead to 4-3. When Irving Falu bounced into a double play, Kaaihue scored the tying run from third base.

The Naturals opened the fifth inning getting back-to-back doubles from Ed Lucas and Clark to take the lead. Maddox knocked in another run with a double to left field giving NWA a 6-4 lead.

The Travs last gasp came in the top of the sixth getting a single by Stavisky and a double from Pettit. A two-out walk to Cody Fuller loaded the bases, but Hardy struck out Ryan Leahy to end the threat. The Travs had their last ten batters retired.

Northwest Arkansas capped the scoring with a run off RHP Aaron Cook in the seventh inning.

Time of game was 2:40 and the paid attendance was 4,630.
