From the Notes

A Slew of Moves: Five transactions came across the wire today as the Sounds lost right-handed pitchers Frankie Montas, Chris Bassitt and Carlos Ramirez to the Athletics, and gained right-hander Kyle Friedrichs and left-hander Jarret Martin from Double-A Midland. Friedrichs will start tomorrow's game and Martin will work out of the bullpen.

I Got Five On It: Reliever J.B. Wendelken turned in his second-straight five-strikeout performance out of the bullpen last night. The right-hander notched five strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings and now has 13 over his last three appearances. Since being transferred from Double-A Midland on May 10, Wendelken is averaging 16.88 strikeouts per nine innings.

Strikeouts Piling up in the 'Pen: Nashville relievers J.B. Wendelken, Jake Sanchez and Dean Kiekhefer combined to record nine strikeouts in last night's loss. Nashville relievers are averaging 9.29 strikeouts per nine innings on the season, and 10.01 strikeouts per nine innings in the month of May.

Phegley's Clutch RBI Total: Despite playing in only 29 of Nashville's 48 games in 2018, catcher Josh Phegley leads the team in go-ahead RBI with five. His first inning run-scoring single last night gave the Sounds a 1-0 lead. He's also second on the team in two-out RBI with 10, behind only BJ Boyd's 11.

A Rare Loss: Last night's loss was only the sixth of the season when the Sounds scored first. Nashville has scored first 23 times this year and has won 17 of those games.

Montas was scheduled to start tonight for @nashvillesounds. It'll now be Matt Milburn, who came up from Stockton to take Gossett's start last Monday and has stayed with the Sounds with potential for a move like this.
