Today's Game: Reno looks to rebound Saturday night following a 9-6 loss in game one of the five-game Salt Lake series. Jake Buchanan will take the ball for the Aces with three wins under his belt thus far in 2018. Kristopher Negron is riding a hot streak over his last 10 games. Entering tonight's contest, Negron is batting .444 (12-for-47) with five runs and three RBI.

About Last Night: The Aces road trip to Utah got off to a rocky start, falling 9 to 6 on Friday night. The Aces out-hit Salt Lake 12-11, but could not overcome a four-run fifth inning. Bradin Hagens got the start and tossed 4.2 innings and allowed eight runs on seven hits. Offensively, Ildemaro Vargas led the Aces going 3-for-4 with a run scored and a walk. The loss gives the Aces a record of 21-28 on the season and moves their head-to-head matchup against Salt Lake to 72-73.

In the Clutch: Evan Marzilli has been dominant with runners in scoring position since coming off the Reno Disabled List on April 28. The speedy outfielder is 8-for-16 with runners in scoring position and 6-for-12 with runners in scoring position and two outs. Last season, Marzilli batted .321 (9-for-28) with runners at second or third.

On This Day: On this day in 2006 Brandon Webb became the first Diamondback to start the season 8-0. The 27 year-old right-hander, who signed a $19.5 million, four-year contract in the offseason, beat the Reds at Great American Ball Park, 3-0, for his second consecutive shutout. Webb pitched in just four games for the Tucson Sidewinders going 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA.

Too Hot To Handle: The temperature at first pitch last night was 88 degrees in downtown Salt Lake City. The Aces have played 15 games this season when it's 70 degrees or warmer and seven games when the temperature is over 80. Reno is 2-5 when it's 80 degrees+ and have been outscored 47-30.

Throughout his career, Puello is batting .407 (46-for-123) at Smith's Ballpark with 27 runs scored, 7 doubles, 6 home runs and 22 RBI. As a member of the Bees, Puello hit a remarkable .397 in 44 games with 7 home runs. At Greater Nevada Field this season, he is batting .295 with four runs scored.

Speedy Vargy: With a triple to lead off the ballgame last night, Ildemaro Vargas has now set a career-high in triples in a single season. His fifth triple of the season was his ninth in an Aces uniform. Kristopher Negron (12), Jack Reinheimer (11) and Christian Walker (10) are the only active Aces players with more.

All-Time Knocks: With a 1-for-4 performance last night, Jack Reinheimer is just 70 hits away from moving ahead of Cole Gillespie (399) for most Aces All-time hits. Mike Jacobs is in second place with 343 total hits. Of Reinheimer's 320 hits, 55 have been doubles, 11 have been triples and eight have been home runs.
