From the Notes
The Wild Wild West: In eight road games against Pacific Conference opponents this year, the Sounds have amassed 56 runs, 97 hits and 32 extra-base hits. Despite averaging 7 runs and over 12 hits per game, Nashville is now 3-5 in those games after last night's win.
Trying to Get Back to Even: A win tonight would push Nashville's record to an even .500 at 51-51. The last time the Sounds were at .500 was when they were 30-30 entering a game against Tacoma on June 10. The Sounds won five straight games in early July to get to 44-45 before losing to Iowa on July 14.
Start Me Up: With Chris Bassitt's seven-inning outing last night, Sounds starters have gone at least six innings in eight of the last 11 games. The only three times Nashville's starter didn't go at least six was when Frankie Montas threw five shutout innings on July 17, and when Raul Alcantara and Liam Hendriks started doubleheader games on July 21.
Mateo Leads the League: With two more triples in last night's win, shortstop Jorge Mateo is up to 12 triples this year. Mateo leads the Pacific Coast League and is now tied for fourth-most on the Sounds' single-season leaders. The last time a Sounds player led the league in triples was in 2004 when Rich Thompson had 13. Thompson's 13 is the third-most in Sounds history only to Ted Wilborn's 14 (1980) and Duane Walker's 15 (1979).
