
NASCAR stars to appear at PrairieThunder game

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - NASCAR drivers Jeff Burton and Reed Sorenson will meet fans and sign autographs prior to the Bloomington PrairieThunder game Dec. 6 as part of NASCAR Night at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum, sponsored by State Farm Insurance and Insight.
Burton currently stands in seventh place in NASCAR's "Chase for the Cup" with 6,107 points, 225 behind leader Jimmie Johnson with one race remaining Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The 39-year-old Burton has one victory and four pole positions this year. He has had seven top 5 finishes and 20 top 10 performances. He made his NASCAR Cup debut in 1993 and has 18 career victories.
Sorenson is in his rookie season on the NASCAR circuit and stands 25th in the overall standings with 3,319 points. He is third in rookie points and has one top 5 finish and 5 top 10 performances.
The PrairieThunder meets the Rockford Icehogs at 7:05 p.m. and will wear specially-designed NASCAR jerseys during the game. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game following the game.
Burton and Sorenson will be available to sign autographs when the doors to the Coliseum open at 6 p.m.. Tickets are available at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum box office by calling 309-434-2679. They are priced at $10, $12, $15 and $20.
Booth on the radio
Fans are invited to attend PrairieThunder coach Derek Booth's radio show Tuesday (Nov. 14) at 6 p.m. at Lucca Grill in Bloomington. The show airs on Bloomington radio station WJBC (1230 AM).
Joining Booth on the one-hour show will be right wing and defenseman Mike Clarke. The PrairieThunder have a 4-7 record ahead of Friday's 7:30 p.m. contest at Rockford.
Holiday Food Drive
PrairieThunder fans filled seven shopping carts with canned goods and non-perishable food items at Saturday night's Holiday Food Drive during the PrairieThunder's 4-3 victory over Elmira. The food will be donated to the Clare House.

Jammie Night at Barnes and Noble
PrairieThunder players Mark Phoenow and Mike Clarke will participate in Jammie Night on Thursday (Nov. 16) at Barnes and Noble Book Store in Bloomington from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The players will available to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
