CORPUS CHRISTI - The Hooks' initial Mixed Martial Arts Night is set for Friday, August 7, at Whataburger Field.
MMA Night is presented by metroPCS, in conjunction with Corpus Christi's 7:05 Texas League game vs. the Midland RockHounds.
Corpus Christi's own Roger Narvaez will visit with fans, sign autographs, and take photographs on the ballpark concourse during the early innings.
MMA Night features a pregame demonstration by Narvaez, Bud Light Friday Fireworks, the Texas Lottery Lucky Scratch-Off Dance-Off, and discounted tickets.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound, 31-year-old Narvaez is the 40th-ranked UFC middleweight. Known as "The Silverback," he's a member of the Full Contact Fight Academy and boasts a 7-2 professional record. As an amateur, Narvaez went 4-0.
Narvaez graduated from Carroll High School and serves as a Corpus Christi firefighter.
