(Calgary) – Today Calgary Stampeders' General Manager and Head Coach Matt Dunigan announced the re-signing of defensive lineman Sheldon Napastuk. Sheldon is currently in his 2nd season with the Stampeders and his 6th in the CFL. Thus far in 2004 Napastuk has recorded 26 defensive tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, 4 quarterback sacks and 4 knockdowns.

PRO Currently in his second season with the Calgary Stampeders ... re-signed with the Stampeders on October 4, 2004 ... originally signed as a free agent by the Stampeders on February 25, 2003 ... drafted by the Edmonton Eskimos in the 1996 CFL Canadian College Draft ... 3rd round, 25th overall ... attended the 1997 Edmonton Eskimo training camp ... was released by the Eskimos just prior to the start of the regular season ... attended the Hamilton Tiger-Cat training camp in 1998 ... saw action as an offensive lineman but was released prior to the start of the regular season ... signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a free agent in August of 1999 ... played four games for the Green Riders that season ... was a Roughrider until February 16, 2003 when he became a free agent.

2003

Played in all 18 regular season games ... recording 25 defensive tackles, 2 quarterback sacks and 2 knockdowns ... recorded a season high in defensive tackles with 4 at home vs the Winnipeg Blue Bombers ... he also recorded 1 sack in that game ... the other came against Edmonton on Labour Day September 1.

Started at nose for the Roughriders ... finished the season with 28 defensive tackles ... 2 tackles for losses ... and one pass knockdown.

2001

Dressed for 17 games for the Roughriders ... starting one game along the defensive line ... finished the season with 11 defensive tackles ... one quarterback sack and one tackle for a loss.

2000

Dressed for all 18 regular season games for the Roughriders ... starting in 12 of those 18 games ... finished second on the team with 6 quarterback sacks ... including three in one game ... recorded 23 defensive tackles ... chipped in with 1 tackle for a loss.

1999

Signed as a free agent by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in August ... dressed for four games ... used primarily in a back-up role along the defensive line ... saw duty on special teams.

1998

Attended training camp of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as an offensive lineman ... was released just prior to the start of the regular season.
