Washington Mystics News Release
Washington, D.C. - After grabbing rebound after rebound on the court, Washington Mystics forward Crystal Langhorne knows that grabbing lowfat chocolate milk helps her rebound off the court. With nine essential nutrients and a unique mix of carbs, protein, fluids and electrolytes, milk helps her body refuel and replenish so she's able to bounce back for her next big game or tough practice.
Langhorne is the newest milk-drinking athlete to join the National Milk Mustache "got milk?"© campaign and don the famous Milk Mustache. She joins other basketball elite all-stars such as Diana Taurasi, Chauncey Billups and Deron Williams who all know that what they eat and drink can make a difference in their performance and their bodies.
The WNBA's Most Improved Player of the Year had a breakout season in 2009. In only her second year, Langhorne improved her scoring average from 4.8 to 12.0 points per game while increasing her rebounding average from 4.0 to 7.9 per game.
"Crystal's a great role model for active teens as she shows how drinking lowfat milk, eating right and training hard can bring you to the top of the game," said Miranda Abney, Senior Marketing Manager at MilkPEP. "We're proud to have Crystal join the ranks of so many other milk-drinking athletes who can talk personally to the performance benefits of milk.
Langhorne's ad copy reads: "Rebound. got milk?" and encourages everyone to go to bodybymilk.com to learn more about the mix of nutrients in milk that helps athletes refuel after a workout. Langhorne will unveil her new "Body By Milk" ad during the Mystics 2010 home-opener at Verizon Center on Friday, May 21 during a pre-game ceremony. Fans will be able to check out Crystal's new ad plus videos of other athletes at www.bodybymilk.com on May 21.
The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2010 season with a back to back on Saturday, May 15 on the road against the Eastern Conference Champions, Indiana Fever followed by a match up on Sunday, May 16 at the Minnesota Lynx. Washington will host the club's home opener on Friday, May 21, against the New York Liberty. Season and group tickets for the 2010 season are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling the Mystics Sales Office at 1-877-DC-HOOP1 or by visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com.
