
Liberty Acquires Nikki Blue from Washington in Exchange for Ashley Houts

The New York Liberty has acquired guard Nikki Blue from the Washington Mystics in exchange for guard Ashley Houts, it was announced today by team President and General Manager Carol Blazejowski.
Blue, 26, is a 5-8 guard from Bakersfield, CA and has a career average of 3.0 ppg, 1.8 apg and 1.4 rpg during her four seasons in Washington. She appeared in 16 games in the 2009 regular season while shooting .333-percent from long range. She was originally selected as the 19th overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft.
Houts, a 5-6 guard, was selected 16th overall by the Liberty in the 2010 WNBA Draft and averaged 12.4 ppg, 3.7 apg and 3.2 rpg as a senior this past season at Georgia.
