Musketeers Send 3 to World Junior A Challenge

The Sioux City Musketeers will send three members of our team to the World Junior A Challenge this year.

First off is the last line of defense and the Musketeers Goalie Ethan Haider. The 18 year old goalie out of Maple Grove, Minnesota advances to his first appearance with the Junior A National team. Not only that this is Ethan's first year with the Musketeers as he has played in 14 of 15 games this year for the team, but the young goalie will play at Clarkson University next year, and was drafted this year in the 5th round as the 148th pick in the NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators.

Next up the Defenseman Nolan Krenzen joins the National team in his 2nd year with the Musketeers. The 18 year old out of Duluth, Minnesota has played 76 games with the Musketeers in his career with the Musketeers and is responsible for 17 total career points with the team. Nolan will play with the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks next year.

Associate Head Coach Mark Abalan joins the USA Hockey Junior A National Team for the second year in a row. Coach Abalan was with the Musketeers as an Assistant Coach for 6 years before receiving the Head Coach title at Chicago and then returning to the Musketeers as the Associate Head Coach. Last year Mark helped lead the Junior A National Team to the gold with 3 other Musketeers on the roster being Luke Johnson, Bobby Brink and Parker Ford.

The Junior A Tournament begins on December 7th for the preliminary round against Canada West and will conclude with the Championship game on Sunday, December 15th at 6pm ET.
